American Legion Post 477 is a huge supporter of both Old Glory Honor Flight & Missions of Honor. In 2025, we donated nearly $71,000 to these organizations.

Post & Sons of the American Legion members conduct funeral honors for fellow Legionnaires and other area Veterans.

Post members, Chris, Bernie, Kevin, Nancy & Chuck attended the 2025 Department Convention where they received a number of awards for Membership, Public Relations and Americanism.

A joint effort between Post 477 & the St Nazianz Lions brought Veteran banners to the Village! In 2025, we had a total of sixty banners on display, 30 banners for Memorial Day, and 30 more for Veterans Day We'll begin accepting 2026 applications in early February.

(Legion, Sons, and Auxiliary), work in two teams to provide Memorial Day honors
at 16 local cemeteries primarily in the St Nazianz, Cleveland, Newton, and Osman areas.

Our Tee It Up Fore Troops (TFUT) Golf Outing has become a premier golf outing for the area. In 2025, we had 199 golfers, 70+ volunteers, and more than 40 sponsors. The 2026 TUFT golf outing is 13 & 14 May.

Post 477 members conduct Buddy Checks
every month. It's important to text, call, message, or visit local Veterans we know. This seemingly simple task may change a life, or save a life!

Members of the American Legion 477 Family spread the word about both Be The One and Challenge 250.

Several Post 477 members are certified to conduct Final Salute ceremonies through the "We Honor Veterans" program. This ceremony recognizes Veterans in the closing chapters of their lives.
