Doing BIG Things for OUR Community

American Legion Post 477 presented a check to Old Glory Honor Flight & Missions of Honor (June 2025) in the amount of $70,982.

During the Department Convention in July 2024, Post Membership Chair, Nancy Rivera, accepted a number of membership awards on behalf of the Post.

Ken Knauf, John Jacobs, Jeff Bronson, and Chris Bestul participated in the Civil War headstone restoration project at the Evergreen Cemetery.

A joint effort between Post 477 & the St Nazianz Lions brought Veteran banners to the Village! The initial 30 banners were on display for Memorial Day, another 30 will hang for Veterans Day 2025.

Members of the American Legion 477 Family

(Legion, Sons, and Auxiliary), worked in two teams to provide Memorial Day honors

at 16 local cemeteries.

Our 2025 Tee It Up Fore Troops Golf Outing was a huge success with 199 golfers, 70+ volunteers, and more than 40 sponsors. The day began foggy, turned into a beautiful sunny day, and then rained (hard).

Post 477 members conduct Buddy Checks

every month. A text, a call, a message, or a visit

may save a life. The 'how' doesn't matter,

it's the doing.

Sons of the American Legion (SAL) Squadron

members participate in all Post activities to include funeral details, Memorial Day activities, parades,

and Youth Gov't Day.

Several Post 477 members are certified to conduct Final Salute ceremonies for Veterans in the closing chapter of their lives.
